Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at INFO@thevillagestudent.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A community-powered career development program.

No. The Village is not a public school, private school, cyber school, homeschool program, or educational institution. Families remain enrolled in and responsible for their chosen educational path. The Village provides academic support, mentorship, community, life-skill development, service opportunities, career exploration, and social connection.

Absolutely. Many students attend The Village after school, on evenings, weekends, holidays, and throughout the summer while remaining enrolled in their current traditional school.  If they prefer a more customized academic or extracurricular schedule, we can help them to transition to a cyber program.

Wonderful. Homeschool students may attend during the day, evenings, weekends, or summer and can customize their Village experience around their family's or co-ops educational goals.

Cyber students are a natural fit for The Village. Many students complete their academic work in focused study blocks and then spend the remainder of their day building friendships, developing life skills, serving, exploring careers, participating in activities, and receiving mentorship.

Yes. We can help families explore available options and determine what educational model best supports their student's needs, interests, goals, and learning style.

No. Curriculum is provided through the student's selected educational program. Village mentors support students with accountability, encouragement, organization, study habits, and academic success.

No. Those responsibilities remain with the student's educational provider or homeschool administrator.

The Village serves students from in grades 5-8, 9-12, and Post-Secondary ages 18-23.  Programs, experiences, and mentorship opportunities are designed to be age-appropriate and developmentally relevant.

Every student has a unique experience. A typical day may include academic study, mentorship, Bible study, meals, social activities, service opportunities, career exploration, athletic training, field trips, apprenticeships, leadership development, and community engagement.

Loops are organized experiences that connect students with businesses, organizations, mentors, churches, athletic facilities, colleges, trades, and community partners. Through Loops, students explore careers, develop skills, gain experience, and discover potential pathways for their future.

Yes. Students are welcome to enjoy meals, snacks, smoothies, salads, bowls, sandwiches, fruit-infused beverages, hot teas, and cold teas through The Open Table at The Village.

Yes. Service is a core part of the Village experience. Students serve alongside mentors in areas such as the café, kitchen, retail space, technology, events, maintenance, hospitality, and community projects. Through service, students develop confidence, leadership, responsibility, and workplace skills.

Yes. The Village is founded on biblical principles and regularly studies the New King James Version (NKJV) Bible.

No. Students and families from all backgrounds are welcome.

No. We won't ask students to follow Jesus or pressure them to believe what we believe. Instead, we study Scripture together, ask questions, seek truth, and encourage students to thoughtfully consider what they believe for themselves.

Student safety is our highest priority. All staff, mentors, volunteers, drivers, coaches, instructors, and adults interacting with students are required to maintain all applicable background checks, child protection clearances, and screening requirements. Additional safety policies govern supervision, transportation, emergency procedures, and student protection.

Transportation options may be available for certain programs, activities, Loops, field trips, and community experiences. Details vary by location and program availability.

The Village is free for students.

Rather than charging tuition or membership fees, we invite families, businesses, churches, and community members who believe in the mission to support The Village through voluntary tithes, offerings, sponsorships, service, and partnerships.

You can support The Village by volunteering, mentoring, praying, serving, partnering as a business or church, providing opportunities for students, sponsoring programs, or contributing financially to help us serve the next generation.

Start by scheduling a Village Discovery Meeting.
